Software Engineer/Software Configuration Manager

My real motivation behind pursuing a degree in management was my work experience as a Software Engineer in HSBC Global Technology India. The work at HSBC gave me an opportunity to apply my newly acquired skills and also exposed me to the intricacies of the Financial Industry. I participated in a wide range of ongoing group activities at the professional level across the creative and sporting spectrum which helped me gain a broader exposure of the industry.

Personal/Business Internet Banking (HSBC US Bank):
• P2G provides a portal based solution designed and implemented for US based HSBC customers for effective and personalized Personal Internet Banking eventually replacing the existing PIB website and uses IBM Portal (WPS) as the portal base
• Worked as Software Configuration Manager to control configurable items (use cases, test plan, change request) and collaborated with other IT groups in the organization (IT audit, IT OPS and testing group)
• Accepted responsibility for meeting audit requirements and conducted baseline audits as per the periodicity.
• Managed updating weekly status reports, project status reports, minutes of meetings, project plans, test cases and maintained consistency of the project repository
• Awarded 'Excellence in Project Process Adherence' by HSBC for the Project "Personal Internet Banking"

Telephony and Media Interface (HSBC Hong Kong)
• Gathered business and functional requirements and collaborated with onsite client to understand requirements thoroughly and also to highlight the problems from the offshore side
• Developed Telephony and Media Interface using Applets, JavaScript and AJAX, a software representation of the physical phone used by agents in call centers of HSBC Hong Kong
• Collaborated with client to analyze business logic and conducted peer code reviews. Clarified requirements, via client calls and meetings
